Welcome! My name is Jonathan Tan, and I am a PhD student at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. I am fortunate to be co-advised by Prof. Adam Elmachtoub and Prof. Yash Kanoria. Prior to joining Columbia, I recieved my bachelor’s degree at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Peking University in 2024.

My research focuses on pricing and market design. I am interested in designing and analyzing service systems enabled by modern AI technologies, and in applying queueing theory, mechanism design and optimization to develop efficient and socially responsible policies for these systems.
